We have an exciting opportunity for an Intake Therapist to join our team of talented professionals.
We have a market-based compensation structure. The estimated salary for this position will vary based on a candidate's transferable work experience and qualifications. Salary ranges start at $53,079.00 per year. The range provided is just one component of total compensation including a comprehensive benefit package of affordable medical plans, employer paid dental, vision and long-term disability, 401(K), flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent, paid time off, 11 paid holidays.
As an Intake Therapist in the Adult Behavioral Health Program, you will be responsible for the following:
- Provide a welcoming experience for adults, children, their families, guardians, and other community members who call and/or walk-in for services at TGC.
- Follow all intake and behavioral health urgent care workflows.
- Complete accurate, thorough and comprehensive intake assessments based on information from all available sources, including individuals, family members, guardians and referral sources.
- Determine the clinically appropriate level of care.
- Utilize Motivational Interviewing strategies to assess and articulate the individual’s and family’s stage of readiness to address the needs identified during the assessment process.
- Initiate the person-centered planning process and facilitate the development of a preliminary treatment plan.
- Complete, review and update crisis plan and safety plans as required.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services as needed.
- Provide individuals, families and guardians complete and accurate information about the services and supports available to them to meet their needs.
- Initiate referrals to programs and services based on the needs and preferences of individuals and families.
- Conduct hospital discharge appointments for new TGC clients and active TGC clients as needed.
- Facilitate wellness checks and/or inpatient psychiatric petitions and assisted outpatient treatment petitions as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with first responders and TGC medical staff as needed to ensure the safety of individuals, families, staff and other members of the community.
- Submit reports to Recipient Rights, Adult and Child Protective Services as required.
To qualify for this position, you will need the following:
- Candidates must have a master’s degree or higher degree and be a Licensed Psychologist (TLLP, LLP or LP), a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW or LLMSW) or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LLPC). Full licensure is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain current licensure in the State of Michigan.
- Must meet the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP), and Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) within 120 days of hire.
- Must have at a minimum of one year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families and one year of experience treating or working with persons with an intellectual and developmental disability.
- Additional experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of adults who have been diagnosed with mental illness is preferred.
- Must complete the MDHHS requirements for the Michigan Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (MichiCANS) training and certification process and update their certification annually.
