About The Role

At Campfire, a successful Data Engineer will be able to strike a balance between strategy and execution to ultimately deliver best-in-class client service.  We're looking for bright and curious individuals who thrive on solving complex data infrastructure challenges and building scalable solutions that power analytics. Our consultants are passionate self-starters who operate comfortably with ambiguity and can navigate complex challenges with minimal oversight.

Requirements
  • Partner with internal team members and stakeholders to understand business needs and build data solutions that support analytics and reporting
  • Implement scalable and efficient data architectures in cloud environments
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using SQL and Python to ingest, transform, and load data from APIs, SaaS platforms, and operational databases into cloud data platforms 
  • Build clean, well-structured datasets using SQL and other transformation workflows, following data modeling best practices 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience working with data pipelines, data analysis, or data engineering–related projects (including internships or equivalent experience) 
  • 2+ years of work experience working with cloud platforms such as: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with working in notebook-based environments such as Databricks, Jupyter, or similar platforms -
  • 1+ years of work experience writing SQL queries across large datasets such as clickstream data (terabytes)
  • 1+ years of experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
  • On-the-job experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and DevOps best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting and/or agency experience
  • Familiarity with digital marketing concepts
  • Hands-on experience working with digital media and clickstream/tapstream data
  • 2+ years of experience with modern cloud data warehouses/lakehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Fabric, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience with transformation tooling (dbt)
  • Exposure to data orchestration tooling (Airflow, Dagster, Cloud Composer, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
  • Exposure to Azure Databricks or similar distributed data processing platforms
  • Exposure to time series forecasting libraries such as Prophet or similar tools
  • Experience preparing datasets for forecasting, machine learning, or predictive analytics workflows
  • Familiarity with PySpark or distributed data processing concepts

Our Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: The base salary pay range for this position is $60,000 to $120,000, dependent on specific level of skills and work & industry experience. Full-time employees are eligible for the annual profit sharing bonus upon 3 months of employment, and may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
