InflexionPoint is currently looking for a Sr. Application Consultant. As a Senior Application Consultant, you will be an integral part of our company's client-facing team, responsible for installing, integrating, troubleshooting and configuring the AVEVA PI system in a variety of industries, including, but not limited to, oil and gas, power generation, & water/wastewater.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordination with various teams such as server and network team, business users, SMEs, project managers, stake holders and PI support team members
- PI server hardware upgrade and interface migration, data migration and backup validation
- PI system support during burn in period, issue management, handover to support post cutover and burn in period. Support during hardware and system review for operation readiness
- PI Collective upgrade and cutover from existing system
- PI layered products upgrade with PI server such as AF system, ACE
- System Integration testing
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
- Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
- Train users to use AVEVA PI software
- Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.
- Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
- Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.
- Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
- Advise customer about or perform maintenance of software system.
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and developments in related area of responsibility
Education, Certifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience administering a PI system and Asset Framework components including analysis, event frames, and notifications, preferably with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Oil and Gas Industry, Midstream and Upstream Operations
- Proven customer consulting experience, including requirements gathering and solution delivery
- Hands-on experience with AVEVA PI Server and PI Collectives in production environments
- Strong proficiency with PI Vision for data visualization and dashboard development
- Experience using AVEVA Connect for data management and integration
- Working knowledge of PI ProcessBook and PI DataLink for reporting and analysis
- Expertise in PI archive migration and system upgrades
- Solid PI system administration skills, including security, configuration, and maintenance
- Experience configuring and managing PI-to-PI data replication
- Knowledge of PI OPC Interfaces (UA and DA) for real-time data connectivity
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including Modbus
- VBA scripting experience for automation and data manipulation
- Understanding of PI Buffering concepts to ensure data reliability and performance
- Ability to optimize PI system performance and troubleshoot data flow issues
- PowerShell scripting skills for system administration and automation
Preferred Experience
- PE License
- PI Interfaces and Connectors (Ovation, iFIX, etc.)
Working Environment
Duties are performed in an office environment, but will also require travel to customer sites/locations to perform analysis, installation, training maintenance, etc. Must be willing to travel up to approximately 50%. Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment which includes, but is not limited to, computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
Physical Demands
Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged hours consistent with the average workday; to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to computer, printer, etc. Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; must be able to move, transport, position, place, install, remove and/or replace various types of equipment; must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. unassisted.
