The Pharmacist is responsible for daily pharmacy operations. This is inclusive of supervision of pharmacy technicians, preparation, dispensing, counseling, and monitoring of medications including inventory management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for sustaining an environment for the safe, rational, effective, accurate and efficient use of oncology and other related medications prescribed by the licensed physicians
· Review and process physician orders and evaluate for accuracy and appropriates of therapy, prior to dispensing
· Counsel patients on proper medication usage and potential side effects
· Monitor patients for medication allergies, adverse drug events, and therapy compliance
· Communication with the physicians as necessary; responding to physicians’ questions regarding medications and treatments
· Oversee the preparation and delivery of prescriptions as ordered
· Ensure the patient receives the right medication and amount in a timely manner
· Supervise all areas of the prescription filling process, including data entry, accuracy of any needed calculation, proper directions on labels, etc. while on duty.
· Provide internal clinical expertise to physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff
· Investigate/research/report adverse drug reactions
· Assist in the development and implementation of therapeutic drug regimens
· Inventory management including drug ordering, tracking and reporting
· Attendance at training sessions inclusive of upgrades to the software
· Maintain patients’ confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
· All job duties are required to be performed in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws, professional practice standards, and policies and procedures of Precision Healthcare Specialists.
· 2+ years experience as a pharmacist with training in drug therapy of diseases including the knowledge and application of clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug-drug interactions, and pharmaceutics to patients.
· Registered Pharmacist License in applicable state.
· Bachelors in Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from a college accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
