Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the shipping
department, ensuring the smooth execution of production tasks.
This position requires a hands-on approach to collaborating with other team
members, ensuring that quality standards are consistently met, and identifying
opportunities for process improvements. The Shipping Clerk will focus on supporting
inventory by order pulling and working side by side the Shipping Lead to ensure product
is safely transferred to its correct pallet, ensure orders are shipping on time, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring efficient and effective
fabrication processes.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and manage the shipping schedule to ensure orders are pulled and
timely on time deliveries.
• Assist in maintaining high-quality standards for all products that are shipping out, ensuring
that each meets company specifications.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, measuring tools, and machinery used in
Order palletizing processes.
• Keep files of goods shipped
• Review orders, inventory report, and SO order statuses are
accurate and complete to meet OTD.
• Ensure products are damage free according to specifications and all processes are
followed before products are shipped out.
• Support compliance with company safety, quality, and operational documentation
requirements.
• Assist in analyzing Shipping challenges and offer suggestions for improvements
to enhance overall workflow efficiency and product quality.
• Maintain organized workstations by practicing 5S principles and ensuring a safe,
clean work environment.
• Demonstrate the company’s core values in daily activities and foster a positive
work culture.
• Abide by all company policies and regulations as outlined in the employee
handbook.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure the correct use of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) by team members.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. - Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiarity with fabrication
- software is a plus.
- Flexibility to work different hours throughout the week as needed
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy in all tasks.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support and
- guide team members.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience with Epicor ERP preferred.
Education and Experience
· This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
· 1 year of forklift experience (stand up and sit-down forklift).
