Training and Development Specialist
Description

 The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end strategy and execution of an organization’s learning initiatives and training of the organization’s employees. This leader aligns workforce development with high-level business goals to improve productivity, retention, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage.

Requirements

Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive experience in L&D or HR, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role for a financial institution. 
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or Education is required in lieu of education work experience may be considered.
  • Certification: Professional credentials like the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) are major advantages.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence executive leadership and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term learning and development (L&D) strategies that align with broader organizational objectives.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct skill gap analyses and performance reviews to identify specific training requirements across departments.
  • Program Design: Oversee the creation of comprehensive curricula, including onboarding, leadership development, technical skills, and soft skills training.
  • Digital Transformation: Manage and implement modern learning technologies, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of instructional designers, trainers, and e-learning coordinators.
  • Evaluation & Analytics: Use of KPI’s like Return on Investment (ROI), knowledge retention, and time-to-proficiency to measure program effectiveness.
