OPPORTUNITY

The Career Pathways Manager plays a critical role in designing, overseeing, and expanding access to student-centered career programming and the community of corporate partnerships that support these efforts. This role is responsible for identifying, building, and maintaining strong strategic partnerships to support college students’ hands-on learning experiences and career development. This role will serve as an in-house content expert on key industries and career pathways, including healthcare, STEM, and to include others as our organization scales. This role is focused on administration of career programming and partnerships and includes occasional 1:1 student advising. The position collaborates with multiple 10,000 Degrees departments to develop, promote, and host successful programs and events to prepare students for their post-college career.

To perform the essential functions of this position, employees may be required to: 

  • Sit, stand, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Have close-vision ability due to computer work.
  • Engage in moderate, occasional lifting.
  • Have a reliable means of transportation to attend regular work as well as other off-site business functions.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES


Curriculum & Program Delivery

  • Oversee career workshops, presentations, curriculum, events, panels, and resources related to key industry pathways for college students and alumni.
  • Support in the development of the career curriculum and content, including newsletters, website content on our Career Success website, creating student communications, and other career development opportunities.
  • Connect students with volunteer Career Mentors for 1:1 advising.
  • Connect students with internship and career opportunities via our partners and support their applications and candidacy.

 

Partnerships

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with corporate and organizational partners.
  • Serve as a liaison for career partnerships overseeing communications, collaboration, application tracking, and internship promotional efforts.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support education initiatives focused on increasing access to careers for underrepresented students.
  • Facilitate the cultivation, development, promotion, and execution of career opportunities for all college students and alumni.

 

Data Management

  • To support our career success initiatives, track grant data and metrics, contribute to grant reports, and participate in funder meetings as needed. 
  • Collect student stories, narrative, and data points for grants and reports.
  • Maintain updated student records, partnership notes, and data associated with program and student impact.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization at fundraising events; meet with donors/funders when needed.
  • Participate in regular program alignment meetings with key departments, staff, and stakeholders. 
  • Attend and present at industry-related coalitions, networks, and conferences.
  • Identify volunteerism needs to support students in industry-focused careers including collaborating with colleagues to develop student engagement in our Career Mentor Program.
  • Travel within 10,000 Degrees regions for meetings and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience managing corporate and community partnerships; with a preference for experience related to internship and career partners
  • Knowledge of healthcare and STEM industry, careers, and pathways
  • High level of professionalism, promptness, and preparedness; attention to detail with excellent follow-through; solution oriented mindset
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to facilitate student workshops and present to corporate partners
  • Strong administrative, organizational and project management skills
  • Event planning and execution expertise requiring minimal supervision
  • Experience with career advising, hosting career events, and/or designing career curriculum supporting low-income and first-generation college students
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and initiative with the ability to effectively work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to learn and be self-reflective in program design
  • Proficiency in Google applications, Zoom, Salesforce (or other data management platforms); experience with Canva a plus
  • This position requires regular in-person presence at our San Rafael office, as well as travel within the San Francisco Bay Area and other regions served.


Salary Description
$75,000 - $85,000/year
