Position Summary:
The Quality Supervisor ensures that the Business Unit complies with the Quality Management System, ISO 9001 standards, customer requirements, and Schnellecke policies while fostering a strong culture of safety and quality. This role leads internal audits, supports external and customer audits, manages corrective and preventive actions, and oversees the control of nonconforming product.
The Quality Supervisor drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce non-quality costs and improve operational performance, supervises the quality team, and partners with internal departments and clients to resolve quality concerns. The position also tracks and analyzes key performance indicators and utilizes tools such as Excel and PowerPoint to support data-driven decision-making and overall operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute the values, philosophy, mission, strategy, policies, and standards of Schnellecke Logistics to achieve organizational objectives.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, Quality Management System requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead internal audits and support external and customer audits.
• Manage corrective and preventive action processes, including root cause analysis using 5 Whys methodology.
• Oversee containment and disposition of nonconforming product.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and non-quality costs.
• Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators related to quality and operational performance.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to develop reports and support data-driven decision-making.
• Supervise and develop quality team members, including coaching, training, and performance oversight.
• Partner with operations, engineering, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment aligned with company safety standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of quality control experience in a shop floor or operational environment.
• Experience in auditing, problem-solving, and cross-department collaboration.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing and document control requirements.
• Proficiency with structured problem-solving tools, including 5 Whys analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Work Environment:
• Frequent walking and standing on the warehouse floor.
• Personal protective equipment required at all times.
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and warehouse equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
