Description

The J is seeking energetic, reliable Soccer Coaches for our upcoming season. Coaches play a key role in delivering a positive, fun, and safe youth soccer experience while serving as leaders and ambassadors for our program. Our grassroots soccer program emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game. 

Coaches may lead clinics, assist with programming, and occasionally serve in a customer service or referee capacity. Experience as a coach, competitive player, or referee is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who brings energy, professionalism and a passion for working with youth.

Schedule

We are hiring reliable part-time staff for 5-10 hours per week to lead or support soccer clinics and soccer programs for 3-14 year old's on weeknights and/or Sundays. 

The Spring season runs March to May. Other coaching opportunities may also present themselves. 


Benefits

  • $20-$30 / 1 hour session, depending on experience

Essential Functions

  • Plan and implement age appropriate, engaging training sessions for youth players ranging from 3-14 years old
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants
  • Model positive sportsmanship and professionalism
  • Assist with equipment setup and breakdown; transport balls and equipment between program sites as needed
  • Support skills clinics, camps, and other soccer programming throughout the year
Requirements
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Experience as a coach/referee/competitive player is preferred
  • Knowledge of soccer and its rules
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing, walking and exposure to the weather outdoors up to 2-4 hours
  • Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination, talking and hearing to demonstrate and execute skills
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs. to move equipment as needed
