Inventory Control Specialist Job Hours: 1st shift - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and material integrity within warehouse operations in accordance with the Quality Management System and customer requirements. This role supports operational efficiency by maintaining accurate system transactions, reconciling physical inventory, and protecting overall inventory integrity.
The purpose of this position is to lead and coordinate inventory control efforts across all shifts, ensuring alignment and consistency in inventory processes. The Inventory Control Specialist investigates bookings and system transactions completed throughout the day, identifies discrepancies, and drives corrective and preventive actions to safeguard inventory accuracy and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute company values, policies, and operational standards
- Lead and coordinate inventory control efforts across all shifts
- Investigate daily booking systems and transactions for accuracy
- Reconcile physical inventory with system records
- Perform and monitor cycle counts and inventory audits
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine the root cause
- Implement corrective and preventive actions
- Present inventory findings and analysis to management and customers
- Review warehouse processes to identify inventory risks
- Track and report inventory accuracy and inbound performance metrics
- Support inbound documentation and goods receipt processes
- Certify goods receipt clerks and coordinate customer certification requirements
- Investigate inbound discrepancies and resolve issues
- Provide warehouse management system support
- Recommend system and process improvements
- Manage stock control processes using SAP
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration or Inventory Management preferred, but not required
- Inventory control experience required
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Fluent in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Able to complete and pass a background check and drug screening.
Work Environment:
- Work performed in both plant and office environments
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and warehouse equipment
- Exposure to electrical equipment and vibration
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions
- Exposure to loud noise levels
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting
- Bending and reaching may be required
- Required use of Personal Protective Equipment on the shop floor
