PURPOSE:
The Business Application Intern will support the SAP Sustainment team and Business Intelligence (BI) team by assisting in identifying business processes suitable for automation using advanced tools and AI technologies. This role focuses on analyzing manual, labor-intensive processes, researching automation solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist in identifying manual, repetitive business processes that could benefit from automation.
· Research and evaluate automation tools and AI solutions for process optimization.
· Collaborate with SAP Sustainment and BI teams to document findings and propose recommendations.
· Support data analysis and reporting tasks as needed.
· Participate in meetings with stakeholders to understand business requirements and pain points.
· Prepare documentation and presentations summarizing research and proposed solutions.
EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s):
Currently a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Coursework in business applications or business processes is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior professional experience required; relevant coursework or academic projects in business process analysis, automation, or data analytics are a plus. Familiarity with ERP (especially SAP) or BI tools is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Basic understanding of business processes and enterprise applications.
· Interest in automation technologies and AI-driven solutions.
· Strong analytical and research skills to evaluate tools and propose optimization strategies.
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies and business practices.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Position requires daily contact with employees, all departments, and management. Has contact with other Gentex locations on a frequent basis.

Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
