Position Overview

FitLab is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to own and execute payroll processing across our brand portfolio. This role is responsible for accurate end-to-end payroll, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees and managers with payroll-related matters. The ideal candidate brings 3–4 years of payroll experience, is comfortable operating in a multi-entity environment, and has hands-on experience with Paylocity. Benefits experience is a plus.



Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for multi-state employees across multiple business units
  • Ensure accuracy of wages, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Maintain and audit payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
  • Manage payroll within Paylocity and maintain system data integrity
  • Reconcile payroll reports and support general ledger payroll tie-outs
  • Coordinate payroll tax filings and ensure federal, state, and local compliance
  • Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries promptly
  • Support payroll and benefits deduction coordination with HR
  • Assist with payroll audits and reporting requests
  • Document and improve payroll workflows and controls

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of hands-on payroll processing experience
  • Proven experience running payroll independently
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll tax and wage-hour compliance
  • Experience in processing multi-state payroll
  • Advanced Excel and payroll reporting skills
  • High accuracy, discretion, and data integrity standards
  • Strong organization and deadline management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Paylocity payroll software
  • Benefits administration or benefits deduction experience
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or high-growth organizations
  • CPP or FPC certification (preferred but not required)

Salary Description
$25-$30 per hour
