What You’ll Do
The Compliance Management Analyst serves as a key resource within MQMR’s Compliance Management department, providing oversight, expertise, and client-facing support across a broad range of compliance functions. This role is primarily responsible for reviewing and validating the accuracy of data, analyses, and reports related to Fair Lending, and compliance with laws and regulations that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Regulation B
- Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Regulation C
- Fair Housing Act
- State Fair Lending Laws, as applicable
- GSE/Agency Requirements, as applicable
The Compliance Analyst will audit loan files, run data analysis reports through a third-party software system, and ensure that findings are accurate and recommendations are practical and aligned with client expectations. Additionally, the Compliance Analyst will collaborate directly with clients by participating in kick-off calls, reviewing results, answering questions, and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen compliance programs and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Fair Lending and HMDA Support product, which includes assistance with the following tasks and projects:
- HMDA Data Integrity Reviews
- Fair Lending Data Analyses
- Policy, Procedure, Documentation and Report Reviews
- Determining findings and observations for Clients
- Recommending Action Steps to Mitigate or Eliminate Risk
- Develop and write comprehensive Fair Lending Analysis Reports for MQMR's Clients
- Reviews Results of Fair Lending Data Analysis
- Ensures accuracy and completion
- Ensures analyses performed align with contract and client expectations
- Reviews and opines on recommendations for solutions for clients to implement
- Reviews Results of HMDA Data Integrity Reviews
- Ensures accuracy of results and completion
- Reviews and opines on root cause analysis for errors and recommendations for solutions
- Assist Clients with the identification of errors with their HMDA Loan Application Register (LAR), and identify solutions to correct data fields
What Will Make You Successful
- 1-3 years of experience in the origination industry required, preferably related to HMDA Loan Application Register (LAR) submissions and Fair Lending Data Analysis.
- 1-3 years of experience auditing mortgage loans to ensure regulatory compliance, including guidelines and pricing exceptions.
- A love for writing and the ability to adapt to writing in a business format to communicate clearly.
- Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems and easily communicate findings.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Confidentiality: Must be able to safeguard sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; however, will consider candidates with equivalent experience.
