Staff Accountant

Are you an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment?


Our client is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial processing. This position offers hands-on exposure to multiple areas of accounting, including receivables, payables, banking, and month-end close.

Requirements

Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare and submit customer invoices through customer portals
  • Prepare and submit payment applications
  • Set up new customers in accounting systems
  • Post customer payments accurately and timely
  • Assist with collection calls as needed
  • Submit delinquent accounts to collection agencies
  • Process lien waivers for customers
  • Request and track Certificates of Insurance (COIs)

Accounts Payable

  • Enter and post vendor invoices
  • Set up and maintain vendor records
  • Complete vendor credit applications
  • Process weekly check runs
  • Process weekly ACH/online vendor payments

Banking

  • Upload and match daily bank transactions
  • Submit weekly check detail reports to the bank
  • Deposit customer checks using a desktop scanner

Month-End Close

  • Process select journal entries
  • Assist with special customer reporting requirements
  • Download and upload select vendor transactions
     

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
