Description

St. Patrick Catholic School is seeking an experienced intermediate teacher. Intermediate teachers act as a bridge between elementary and high school by fostering critical thinking, independence, and subject-specific knowledge, creating engaging, differentiated lesson plans, assessing student progress, managing classroom behavior, and communicating with parents.


The role includes but is not limited to: 

  • Instruction: Develop and deliver lesson plans that align with diocesan curriculum standards in core subjects. Submit weekly lesson plans.
  • Assessment: Administer benchmark and classroom assessments, grade assignments, and use formative/summative assessments to set goals for students, provide interventions, and monitor progress. Post grades weekly on the school information system. 
  • Classroom Management: Establish and enforce rules and school policies, fostering a positive and safe environment.
  • Student Development: Support the faith formation of all students. Support students social, emotional, and cognitive growth, addressing diverse learning needs.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with grade level team, vertical team, and data team. Attend vertical team meetings, whole group staff meetings, and maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress. 
  • Technology Integration: Utilize technology to enhance instruction and engage students in learning.
  • Professional Learning: Participate in ongoing professional development related to faith, instruction, and assessment. Participate in annual teacher evaluation pre-conference, observation, and post-conference. Set professional learning goals. 
  • Supervision: Monitor student activities such as recess.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education 
  • Professional Educator License State of Illinois
  • Experience of 5+ years preferred
  • Strong knowledge and practice of Catholicism 
  • Knowledge of child development, curriculum, instructional best practices, and assessment. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents
Salary Description
Salary range 38,000-55,000 depending on experience
