Who You Are

  

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative scientist to join our biologics discovery group at GondolaBio. The selected candidate will work within a fast-paced, interactive, and innovative research team to assist in the development of novel antibodies. This role will require a highly cross-functional skillset, including cell biology, immunology, and protein engineering.

Responsibilities

  

  • Design and perform studies critical for antibody discovery and validation, including binding assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, BLI), and functional cell-based assays, including immunological assays, internalization and cellular trafficking assays.  
  • Support translational studies that further elucidate the mechanism and biology for drug candidates, including potential biomarker development, in vivo model selection and efficacy evaluation.
  • Identify and manage CROs to complement internal efforts.
  • Analyze experimental data and present findings to the team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental procedures, results, and conclusions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the design and planning of experiments.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and external collaborators.
  • Contribute to due diligence and gap analysis on potential new GondolaBio assets 


Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology or related discipline with 2+ years hands-on industry experience. M.S. and B.S. candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  

  • Experience with antibody screening and developability assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, BLI, developability assessments)
  • Strong hands-on experience with setting up, and optimizing in vitro cell-based assays, including immunological assays (e.g., ADCP, ADCC, CDC), and cellular trafficking (e.g. confocal microscopy).
  • Experience in designing and executing in vivo studies for efficacy and PK/PD evaluation of biologics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong scientific background and achievements in bioscience and translational medicine, ideally demonstrated by scientific publications, presentations, and/or patents
  • Proven track record of successfully working in research programs
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery and development processes
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and organizational  skills
  • Ability to think strategically and execute experiments effectively
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Demonstrate creative 'out of the box' thinking to solve complex technical problems and champion innovative technologies to achieve project goals

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 per year. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.  A bonus plan and equity will also be offered.
