As a Retail Parts Team Lead, you won’t just sell parts; you’ll be the go-to expert, the coach, and the driving force behind an exceptional customer experience. From guiding customers through their RV and Boat needs to training and inspiring your team, you’ll play a key role in creating confident buyers, stronger teammates, and unforgettable delivery experiences.
Essential Functions
- Assist in retail customer purchases
- Expert knowledge of RV and Marine Parts and Accessories, their features, functions, benefits, and general installation techniques
- Ability to show and demo all types of RV’s and Boats
- Ability to provide substitute parts information for obsolete/upgraded parts based on experience
- Understand customer requests for parts; provide parts information and prices using service manuals, reference materials, and the computer
- Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient and timely processing of parts orders within the guidelines of company policies and procedures, and by checking parts availability
- Verify prices and enter orders into the computer
- Responsible for following up on back orders by checking with other parts personnel and sources to determine the status of orders and provide quality updates to customers
- Responsible for training employees on how to show and demo all types of RV’s
- Collaborate with vendors to schedule product and sales trainings
- Create and help to lead a product and sales training schedule for camping advisors
- Distribute DRP’s to Camping Advisors promptly
- Coach and instruct camping advisors on the DRP process
- Work hand in hand with the Back Counter Parts Team Lead for day-to-day operations and scheduling
Customer Delivery & Experience
- Greet and check in customers when they arrive to take ownership of their RV or Boat, ensuring a professional, friendly, and welcoming experience.
- Confirm that all “We Owe” items, accessories, and delivery details are prepared and ready.
- Partner with sales, service, and detail departments to ensure the unit is delivery-ready.
- Serve as the point of contact during the delivery appointment, helping customers feel confident and cared for.
- Ask customers for a Google Review at the conclusion of their delivery, explain its importance, and make the process easy.
- Track reviews and report results for bonus eligibility.
Requirements
- Sales or Service experience in RV, marine, powersports, automotive, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong product knowledge and genuine passion for the outdoor, boating, and camping lifestyle.
- Self-driven, approachable, and confident in selling solutions that enhance the customer’s experience.
- Experience demonstrating equipment or teaching customers is a plus.
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills—comfortable guiding customers one-on-one or in small groups.
- Basic computer and POS system skills.
- Lead, train, and support the Retail Parts team by providing ongoing coaching, product education, and performance feedback, while setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and ensuring daily operations run efficiently and consistently.
