RevTrak, a Vanco Company, is a leading payment facilitator (PayFac) powering digital payments for K-12 school districts and the partners who serve them. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a senior payments leader to own and evolve our processor relationships, card brand compliance framework, and overall payments strategy.
This role will serve as the company’s subject matter expert on card network rules, processor operations (notably Worldpay), and PayFac program governance—while also partnering closely with Product to drive innovation in embedded and integrated payment solutions.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role at the center of our payment’s ecosystem.
What You’ll OwnCard Brand & PayFac Compliance Leadership
- Serve as the internal expert on Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover rules and monitoring programs.
- Own card brand registration, reporting, and ongoing compliance within our PayFac model.
- Proactively monitor network rule changes and lead cross-functional implementation of required updates.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, Finance, and Operations to manage:
- Chargeback monitoring programs
- Fraud thresholds
- Network compliance programs (e.g., VFMP, excessive chargeback programs)
- Act as primary liaison during audits, reviews, or escalations with card brands.
- Ensure governance processes align product and commercial initiatives with compliance obligations.
Processor Relationship Management (Worldpay & Future Partners)
- Serve as executive relationship owner for our primary processor (Worldpay) and any future acquiring partners.
- Drive strategic alignment on pricing, performance, SLAs, and roadmap priorities.
- Identify and negotiate new capabilities (e.g., tokenization, network tokens, recurring frameworks, fraud tools).
- Resolve complex operational, risk, or technical escalations.
- Optimize commercial terms as we scale volume.
- Lead or support processor evaluations and RFP processes when needed.
PayFac Program Oversight & Risk Alignment
- Help evolve and scale our PayFac model in alignment with growth objectives.
- Define and refine policies around sub-merchant onboarding, underwriting thresholds, MCC strategy, and fraud mitigation.
- Balance risk posture with business growth in a regulated K-12 environment.
- Ensure scalable operational frameworks as transaction volume and partner integrations expand.
Payments Product Innovation & Embedded Strategy
- Partner closely with Product leadership to shape the payments roadmap, notably our embedded payments and native card present solution.
- Translate processor and card brand capabilities into differentiated, scalable product features.
- Identify new monetizable payment capabilities for school districts and software integration partners.
- Support API-first and embedded payment strategies for SaaS platforms integrating our solutions.
- Evaluate emerging payment modalities (e.g., real-time payments, alternative rails) for strategic fit.
- Serve as payments SME in product discovery, solution design, and strategic partner discussions.
Performance Optimization & Strategic Growth
- Improve authorization rates, fraud performance, and overall payment acceptance metrics.
- Identify interchange and cost optimization opportunities.
- Develop and track KPIs across approval rates, disputes, fraud, and margin.
- Assess build vs. buy vs. processor-native feature decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- 8–15+ years of experience in payments, with significant exposure to card network rules and processor management.
- Direct experience operating within or alongside a PayFac model strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ownership of processor or acquiring bank relationships (Worldpay experience a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of card brand compliance programs and monitoring thresholds.
- Experience at a product or SaaS company, ideally supporting embedded or integrated payments and card present solutions.
- Ability to translate complex payment regulations into scalable product and operational frameworks.
- Commercial acumen and negotiation experience.
- Strategic mindset with strong operational execution skills.
- Executive presence and comfort engaging with external partners and internal senior leadership.
Why This Role Matters
Payments are mission-critical to the districts and families we serve. This leader will ensure we operate with excellence, compliance, and innovation—strengthening our processor and network relationships while unlocking new value for our partners.
The annual base pay for this position typically starts between $200,000 - $250,000. Placement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: knowledge, skills, years & depth of experience, location, and equity with internal team members. This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus.
