Merchandise Intern

Description

Coast of Maine is seeking a Merchandise Intern to serve as a liaison between the territory managers and the customer to deliver necessary marketing material, POP and check product inventory for a variety of garden centers and hardware stores in New England and upstate New York. This position requires weekly travel, sometimes overnight, to service these customers. This will be a seasonal role to assist during the spring and summer months. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver marketing materials and POP including signs, pallet sign holders, etc.
  • Deliver product samples
  • Check inventory of products 
  • Track the deliveries and inventory on a shared file
  • Work with garden centers and hardware stores on product placement and set up
  • Build positive relationships
  • Understand and convey the benefits of Coast of Maine to the customer
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. safely
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel for multiple overnights a week
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Currently pursuing or having obtained a degree in a business or agriculture science related field
  • One year of experience in retail preferred
