Description
Coast of Maine is seeking a Merchandise Intern to serve as a liaison between the territory managers and the customer to deliver necessary marketing material, POP and check product inventory for a variety of garden centers and hardware stores in New England and upstate New York. This position requires weekly travel, sometimes overnight, to service these customers. This will be a seasonal role to assist during the spring and summer months. Responsibilities:
- Deliver marketing materials and POP including signs, pallet sign holders, etc.
- Deliver product samples
- Check inventory of products
- Track the deliveries and inventory on a shared file
- Work with garden centers and hardware stores on product placement and set up
- Build positive relationships
- Understand and convey the benefits of Coast of Maine to the customer
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Retail experience preferred
- Be able to lift 50 lbs. safely
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel for multiple overnights a week
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Currently pursuing or having obtained a degree in a business or agriculture science related field
- One year of experience in retail preferred
