Summary
Architectural intern will assist architects and senior architectural designers in the development of project design concepts and construction documents for a variety of project types and in multiple stages of design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply architectural design principles to projects in cooperation with a multi-disciplinary team across multiple office locations
- Manage BIM files (Revit) during the development of construction documents.
- Assist in the curating and marketing of design services and projects for proposals, social media, and other media outlets.
- Assist Project Managers with tasks during project bidding and construction administration phases such as: Request for Information (RFI) responses; Addenda and change order documentation; Documenting on site job conference meeting minutes and construction progress; other coordination efforts with consultants, contractors, and other project stake holders.
- Occasionally assist with other engineering disciplines as needed and as able (survey, civil engineering).

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This role will operate primarily from the office with occasional site visits and on-site presence required. Attire is business casual. On-site meetings will require closed-toe shoes (additional PPE will be provided). Computer, software, and other equipment necessary for completing tasks will be provided.

The intern is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. They are also regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn as required by CGA Standards and job location.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position with opportunities for overtime of work beyond 40 hours per week. Expected work hours are in accordance with the Employee Guide to Personnel Policies & Practices.
Travel
Local day travel is anticipated. Inter-Office travel and project related travel required to carry out assigned duties will be reimbursed.
Education and Work Experience:
Minimum of some post-secondary education in an accredited Architectural Design program.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Hands on experience with Autodesk Revit and Trimble Sketchup
- Proficient with Adobe design suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Exposure to construction materials, methods, and project delivery
- Basic understanding of design phases (concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Must be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
