Job Summary: The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating engaging, mission-driven content across platforms while supporting broader marketing initiatives. This position combines creativity, storytelling, and technical skills to bring Habitat KC’s mission to life. You will craft copy, graphics, and videos that inform, inspire, and drive engagement for Habitat KC, while also assisting with Habitat KC ReStore and other marketing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
- Manage Habitat KC’s social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn).
- Assist with social media efforts for Habitat KC ReStores to drive traffic, sales, and brand awareness.
- Moderate conversations, respond to comments and messages, and actively engage audiences in a consistent, timely manner.
- Support paid social media campaigns to drive program awareness, volunteer recruitment, and community engagement.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Capture photo and video content at build sites, ReStores, volunteer events, and office activities.
- Edit and post real-time social content during events and volunteer days.
- Write on-brand, platform-appropriate copy for posts, captions, and stories.
- Design cohesive, creative content using Canva or Adobe for social and other marketing needs.
Collaboration & Marketing Support
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop content that aligns with organizational goals and key initiatives.
- Support additional marketing projects, including print materials, flyers, display signage, and presentations.
- Work closely with Marketing Manager, agency partners, and ReStore social media managers to maintain consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all channels.
Requirements
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 2 years of marketing, communications, or social media experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write compelling, audience-focused copy.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, scheduling tools (Hootsuite experience a plus), and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Express).
- Experience capturing and editing photo and video content for social media.
- Knowledge of social media trends, platform algorithms, and performance analytics.
- Comfortable traveling to offsite locations for content capture.
- Passion for Habitat KC’s mission and a desire to create meaningful impact through storytelling.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Salary Description
$40,000 - $45,000 per year
