Are you an elite technical problem-solver who loves the thrill of the win and knows how to independently drive complex public sector deals?
Vector Solutions is looking for a high-energy Senior Sales Solutions Engineer to be the technical anchor and strategic co-pilot for our Federal and State government sales process. In this senior-level role, you won’t just be delivering demos; you will be architecting customized integration plans, independently driving the technical evaluation alongside Account Executives, and acting as the definitive subject matter expert for our public sector clients.
As a Senior Sales Solutions Engineer at Vector Solutions, you will own the "technical win" from end to end. Beyond the sales cycle, you will act as a premier thought leader and a "face of Vector Solutions" in the market—building our brand externally through high-profile webinars, industry events, and strategic market positioning. If you have a passion for elite presentations, deep public sector expertise, and the drive to mentor the team around you, we want you on our side.
What You'll Do:
- Independently Drive the Technical Win: Act as a strategic co-pilot to the AEs, independently leading the technical evaluation phase. Expertly demonstrate the comprehensive Vector Solutions suite, prescribing the exact right solution to address stringent government compliance, security, and technical requirements.
- Be the Face of Vector Solutions: Act as a premier thought leader and domain expert in the market. Go beyond standard duties to actively build the Vector brand by creating new content, driving high-profile webinar strategies, and speaking as a featured industry ambassador at government tradeshows and conferences.
- Be the Architect: Conduct deep-dive needs assessments. Translate complex agency requirements into actionable, scoped presentation strategies and solution designs.
- Data-Driven Storytelling: Leverage data visualization tools (like Power BI) to build compelling dashboards, highlight key metrics, and demonstrate clear ROI during executive-level presentations and technical evaluations.
- Partner on Proposals: Work hand-in-hand with the proposal and sales teams to provide expert technical responses for complex proposals (including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs) and co-present customized product strategies directly to agency leadership and key stakeholders.
- Drive Account Expansion: Partner strategically with existing clients to deeply understand their evolving needs, proactively identifying opportunities to introduce additional modules or products from our suite to solve their ongoing challenges.
- Mentorship & Team Elevation: Serve as an informal leader on the SE team. Lead internal training initiatives, coach peers on product enablement and technical processes, and set the standard for demo excellence.
- Collaborate & Shape the Product: Work cross-functionally across departments, serving as a critical feedback loop for our product development team to ensure our technology solutions and future roadmap align perfectly with our clients' mission-critical goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Public Sector Experience: 7+ years of client-facing experience in a software/SaaS environment, with a deep, proven background in Federal, State, or SLED (State, Local, and Education) B2G sales.
- Security & Access: Must be able to successfully pass an enhanced security background check, possess the ability to enter federal buildings as needed, and work within specific Vector Solutions software environments designed to meet or exceed strict federal compliance requirements.
- Data Visualization Expertise: Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar BI/data visualization tools, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable executive insights.
- Project Management Chops: Proven experience independently managing technical projects, complex proof-of-concepts, or large-scale software evaluations.
- Communication & Polish: Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills. You can command a room and explain complex technical concepts to both IT professionals and non-technical government executives with ease.
- Business Acumen: A profound understanding of government procurement cycles, proposal processes, and public sector negotiation. You are driven to exceed goals and increase operational profitability.
- Technical & Compliance Aptitude: High proficiency in learning new software systems quickly, with a deep understanding of government security and accessibility standards (e.g., FedRAMP, Section 508).
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 30% to support strategic client meetings and industry events.
