Description

 SUMMARY: The Chief Strategy Officer is responsible for building upon the current business of The Elizabeth Hospice through a comprehensive, well-developed, strategic growth plan that includes short- and long-range goals. Responsibilities include direct supervision of the sales team and oversight of the Business Services Department.


The Elizabeth Hospice is San Diego's oldest non-profit hospice of 45 years. We are growing and looking for talented individuals to join our high performing team and support our mission. We serve all of San Diego county and south Riverside county with multiple hospice office locations.


Our Mission: To enhance the quality of life for those nearing the end of life's journey and for those who grieve. 


Salary: $225,000 -$250,000. Subject to experience and qualifications.

Work Schedule:  Monday thru Friday, start time between 7 am - 8am.  9/9/80 AWW schedule available after successful completion of 90-day introductory period, allows 1 workday off every 2 weeks.

Work Location: Escondido, CA

Degree of Travel: Travel is required to various office locations, including Mission Valley, Carlsbad, Temecula. 

Requirements

 JOB DUTIES/KNOWLEDGE/JOB PERFORMANCE:


1. Develop and execute comprehensive strategic and tactical business development plans that drives organizational growth and revenue, leveraging key performance indicators to establish measurable goals and identify opportunities for improvement

2. Partner with senior leadership to define and operationalize organizational and departmental strategic objectives in alignment with the agency’s overall strategic plan.

3. Serve as the primary liaison with senior leadership to ensure consistent application of E-Way customer service standards across all business lines and monitor customer satisfaction through established measurement programs (e.g., CAHPS, service recovery reports, complaints, and referral source feedback).

4. Collaborate with marketing and communications to align media and outreach efforts with strategic and tactical sales initiatives.

5. Provide executive oversight of contract and business administration functions, including contract negotiations, renewals, internal communications, education, innovation and implementation. Ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations

6. Identify opportunities to improve programs, service delivery, and develop actionable recommendations.

7. Design and execute innovative clinical strategies aligned with value-based reimbursement models. 

8. Lead managed care strategy, risk analysis, and provider performance optimization.

9. Drive population health initiatives and clinical innovation

10. Implement process improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

11. Work collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer to align operational practices with clinical policies, procedures, and medical guidelines.

12. Lead the recruitment, coaching performance management and professional development of department staff.

13. Guide the marketing director in regional liaison growth and referral management goals; monitor performance and report results to senior leadership on a quarterly basis.

14. Ensure accurate tracking and analysis of regional liaison activities and performance metrics with the CRM System.

15. Contribute to the development and oversight of departmental operating budgets and relevant administrative systems.

16. Represent the organization through professional and community engagement activities that advance the hospice’s mission

17. Perform additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s degree communications, public health or related field; business and/or non-profit management and a minimum of five years of management with progression into leadership role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Hospice and/or health management experience required, RN license preferred

3. Current California driver’s license and proof of insurance preferred.

4. Must have reliable transportation.
