The National Sales Manager leads a team of outside sales representatives and is responsible for the performance of that team in support of national objectives. This direct management role involves expanding the regional customer base by establishing clear sales objectives, providing strategic guidance for each territory, monitoring performance of individual representatives, and providing support throughout the sales process to ensure the achievement of targets. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales. 


Ideal locations: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Florida - while we may hire outside of this region, we are ideally looking for candidates that are located in these regions.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop programs and initiatives that drive the sales team’s ability to achieve or exceed the company’s revenue and contribution targets
  • Prepare pipeline updates and sales forecasts on a regular basis
  • Meet or exceed annual sales revenue quota given for overall team performance
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring process for sales team members conducting resume review, initial interviews, attending career fairs, and coordinating outreach efforts to local business schools
  • Oversee onboarding and training program for members of the regional team
  • Provide in-the-field training for team members and assistance for high stakes opportunities
  • Conduct continual training on product, process, and professional development for team members
  • Provide strategic direction for team members on sales strategies and company goals
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with each team member to provide individual guidance and support for specific sales opportunities
  • Offer alternate “open door” time to serve as a resource to the team for questions
  • Manage employee performance reviews, time off requests, and overall development of team members
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Establish professional relationships with key personnel at top accounts
Requirements
  • Demonstrable success in sales management, leading a high-performance sales team
  • Experience working across multiple states and regions 
  • 5 + years of experience with Higher Ed Tech sales
  • BA in Business, MA preferred
  • Must have an inspiring and approachable leadership style with the ability to develop staff to increase sales and marketing performance levels.
  • Command of business acumen
  • Experience with systems to build sales leads, create a reliable forecast and manage the sales team
  • Analytical skills with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Must be comfortable with and knowledgeable about eLearning technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in using technology programs like Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Slack etc.
  • Must be willing to travel 50%-60% during the fall and spring selling season (September - December, January - May)
  • Located in or willing to relocate to:  Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Florida

The salary range for this role is competitive and considers a variety of factors, including skill sets, experience, training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The reasonable range for this role is $100k-$120k with Annual Commission.
