We are seeking an ambitious and talented strategic communications professional with a strong background in nonprofit, higher education, and/or healthcare development communications. This part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) offers flexible scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This position will provide support to clients to advance their missions through compelling donor and audience-focused communications, including materials for primary, mid-level and major gift donors, as well as more general audiences, including alumni, grateful patients, and the public at large.  The person in this role may conduct comprehensive client interviews and write for annual giving and digital marketing campaigns. Qualified candidates will have a strong portfolio of compelling, well-written documents in a variety of fields. 


This position works collaboratively with clients, consultants, and support staff. This position will frequently partner with and learn from industry-leading consultants as they help clients discover solutions to communications challenges.

Requirements
  • Write compelling short and long-form articles, emails, and marketing materials.
  • Develop and implement social media and digital marketing material.
  • Conduct interviews and process information at a high level to create reports, presentations, and written material.
  • Identify communications trends and develop firm-generated thought leadership reflective of BWF’s role as a leader in nonprofit marketing and communications.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, deliver excellent customer service and act as a key point of contact.
  • Engage in multiple projects, with varying deadlines, scopes, and deliverables at any given time. Assist in business development initiatives as necessary, including sales presentations, marketing activities and discovery calls.
  • Meet utilization goals related to billable client work.
  • Participate in ongoing internal activities as a productive and active member of BWF. These may include orientation and ongoing training, firm-wide client review meetings, and other skill-building activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience related to marketing and communications in a healthcare, academic medical center, higher education, or nonprofit organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and a solid strategic thinking ability
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to create a strong, positive, initial impression and maintain solid professional credibility.

 Compensation and Benefits Hourly range of $28.00 to $36.00 based on qualifications and experience. This position is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits or paid time off. 


Work Environment/Conditions

  • This position can be remote or based in our Minneapolis office (locally based employees are required to maintain a hybrid office presence).
  • Position requires the ability to work in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.
  • Continuous use of a computer.
  • Frequent communication with the team via Zoom.
