Summary:
The Manager of Data Solutions is responsible for the Data Warehouse, ensuring data is properly structured, modeled, and delivered to meet the needs of internal operations, external stakeholders, regulatory reporting, and specialized partners. This position provides hands-on engineering leadership, manages reporting definitions, and offers technical guidance to support organizational objectives.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Manager of Data Solutions is to evaluate, advise on, and recommend strategies for data warehousing and reporting platforms, ensuring these initiatives are closely aligned with the National Registry’s strategic objectives, overall enterprise architecture, and security standards. By doing so, this role supports the organization’s ability to deliver accurate, timely, and secure data to internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and partners, ultimately strengthening decision-making and operational effectiveness.
Essential Functions:
- Leads the design, engineering, and ongoing evolution of the Data Warehouse; ensures consistent, accurate, and timely data flow across systems, analytics platforms, and reporting layers.
- Collaborates with other appropriate teams to ensure data structures effectively support both operational and research objectives.
- Provides architectural guidance and recommends future-state data warehouse and reporting platforms to support long-term needs and reliability based on best practice.
- Defines and maintains standards for reporting and key organizational metrics that meet the needs of both internal and external partners. Ensures the dataflow and reporting logic is maintained and accessible.
- Ensures business rules and metrics are consistent across all departments to ensure trusted, authoritative data outputs. Provides mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to staff.
- Identifies needs for improvement and collaborates with others to design and implement those solutions.
- Ensures data systems work well together, are reliable, and the results are accurate. Validates Data Warehouse jobs, data flows, and reporting outputs are complete and correct.
- Contributes to stabilization and re-enablement efforts following data or reporting incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 8+ years of experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, data engineering, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with dimensional modeling, enterprise DW design, and reporting systems.
- Strong expertise in SQL, data transformations, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load and Extract, Load, Transform concepts, cloud data platforms, and modern reporting tools.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams, including analytics, research, and external stakeholders.
- Experience advising leadership on data platform evaluation and technical strategy.
