Purpose:

Working field supervisor to manage the day-to-day field operations of the assigned work team for United Ag & Turf’s Logistics department. Train and mentor assigned team members. Responsible for the repairs or preventative maintenance of fleet vehicles, ensuring that the necessary number of fleet vehicles are always available.  

Logistics Field Supervisor Responsibilities:


  • Manage timekeeping, Paylocity for drivers
  • Train drivers on UAT processes and all DOT, FMCSA regulations
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and discipline to drivers with guidance from Transportation Manager
  • Manages interview process for candidates
  • Ensure implementation of day-to-day activities of transportation personnel 
  • Communicate with clients, customers, and team members to ensure smooth transportation operations including problem resolution
  • Acting as the main point of communication between the drivers and dispatch office
  • Ensure that drivers are adhering to safety standards and following all traffic laws and regulations
  • Inspect and audit all fleet vehicles and drivers as needed
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance and repair of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order
  • Working with Store Managers/BOMS/BOM Director/Logistics Manager to resolve operational and logistics issues
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports related to transportation activities, such as vehicle inspections, driver logs
  • Do Ride-A-Longs with Drivers
  • Manages New Driver On-Site Orientation/On-Boarding
  • Substitute and fill in for driver when necessary
  • Substitute for Transportation Manager when necessary
  • Assist in transfers and parts transfer delivery where possible during daily travel
  • Any other activity requested by Manager of Logistics, CHRO, or COO

Experience Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of driving with a CDL
  • Qualified candidates must have excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills; general knowledge of FMCSA and DOT guidelines and regulations.
  • Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes.
  • Comfortable using GPS equipment.
  • Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck.
  • Compliance with all road and transport rules.
  • Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day.
  • Valid CDL License and clean background
  • Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Openings for experienced delivery drivers to deliver agriculture, commercial, and construction equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of binding, strapping, chaining of machinery and equipment
  • Ability to operate forklift
  • Ability to pull at least 32' trailer
  • Must have previous equipment operating/transporting experience
  • Must have a positive, friendly attitude towards customers. 
  • Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing  
  • Must be capable of using computers, email, iPads, iPhones and electronic log programs
  • Must be willing to travel

Preferred Education and Experience

  •  High school diploma or GED.
