Job Description

Responsible for designing PLC programs and SCADA systems for packaged generator sets, biogas digesters, and renewable natural gas upgrading systems. The PLC programmer is responsible for conceptualizing industrial processes for program designs and system protection schemes. The role requires analyzing mechanical and electrical designs, building a sequence of operations, implementing that sequence into a functioning PLC program(s), and assembling program(s) into a user-friendly SCADA system. Employee will also play a key role in the testing, commissioning, and upkeeping of their projects. 


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understanding and implementing designs from technical drawings
  • Responsible for preparing and revising of CAD files, manual drawings, control logic logs, equipment specifications, etc.
  • Responsible for adhering to company and client engineering standards and procedures
  • Interacting with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication
  • Preparing cost estimates for customers and other employees
  • Creating product documentation and records
  • Attending company meetings


Requirements

Requirements

  • +2 years of verifiable work experience in programming or related fields
  • Experience with Siemens PLC’s, programming various drives, and designing HMIs
  • Preferred experiences with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Red Lion, Horner, or other various types of equipment
  • Preferred experience with Ignition or other SCADA software
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers
  • Excellent writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Focus and concentration to understand complex electrical systems
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations
  • Familiar with the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred
