Summary


The person will own the Quality Management System (QMS) for a growing aerospace firm with accountability for quality metrics, process testing and process documentation. Manage supplier quality and technical problem solving with customers. Also own the Source Control Drawing (SCD) development for key customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct and oversee all aspects related to Quality Assurance
  • Manage Quality Management System
  • Execute Control of Non-Conforming Product procedure if he/she or other team members identifies a non-conforming product
  • Complete appropriate forms, follow up, and ensure all non-conformances are resolved in a timely manner
  • Set goals for non-conformance resolutions
  • Oversee the follow up on all Warranty Claims
  • Authorize RMAs to customers after investigating customer claims, where necessary
  • Receive all Warranty claims, Credit memos to the system, and ship to Vendor
  • Oversee the filing and distribution of all documents to necessary folders
  • Understand and implement all related Quality Management system procedures
  • Actively participate and encourage other team members’ participation to improve the quality system by using opportunity for improvement defined in QMS manual
  • Other duties may be defined with upper management
  • Understand and perform functions in accordance with AS9120 and ISO9001Standards
  • Manage and own the whole process of SCD (Source Control Drawing) document development, and support sales team to win SCD based business

Supervisory Responsibilities


Position may require supervisory responsibilities but will be determined based on skill set and team requirements as directed by the managing supervisor/VP

  • Responsible for Quality Assurance Department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Responsible for the coordination and evaluation of the department

 Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred Engineering Degree
  • Between 15 - 20 years of QA leadership experience (Aerospace QA experience is a plus)

      - 10 years QA experience with electronic component manufacturing

      - 5 years Quality Assurance testing experience

      - 5 years reliability testing experience

      - 3- 5 years QMS (Quality Management System) management experience (AS9120 experience is a plus)

  • Experience with Military and Government Standards

Technical Skills

  • Electronic component manufacturing quality assurance knowledge
  • Quality and reliability testing knowledge


Language Skills

  • Fluent in English
  • Foreign Language skills desirable (Japanese)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers

Mathematical Skills

  • Above average
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Salary Description
$120,000 - $150,000 DOE
