Position Overview

Edgewood Electric is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to oversee multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously, ranging from $5M on average up to $30M in value.

This is a leadership role responsible for financial performance, scheduling, client relationships, design-assist coordination, and change order management. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands complex commercial electrical systems, and has a strong command of project financials.

This is an in-office position based in Detroit.

  

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Project Leadership

  • Manage multiple electrical construction projects concurrently (avg. $5M; up to $30M).
  • Oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Financial Ownership

  • Full P&L responsibility for assigned projects.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, labor tracking, cost controls, and procurement.
  • Monitor job cost reports and maintain margin targets.
  • Utilize Sage for financial tracking and reporting.

Scheduling & Execution

  • Develop and manage project schedules.
  • Coordinate manpower planning and material procurement.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.

Change Order Management & Estimating

  • Prepare, price, and negotiate change orders.
  • Analyze scope revisions and cost impacts.
  • Use Accubid and EBM for estimating and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate change order logs and ensure timely approvals.

Design-Assist & Preconstruction

  • Participate in design-assist efforts.
  • Review plans and specifications for constructability and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with engineers, GCs, architects, and owners.

Client & Team Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners and general contractors.
  • Lead internal project teams and mentor junior PMs and project engineers.
  • Run project meetings and provide executive-level updates.

  

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of electrical project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
  • Experience managing projects valued at $5M+.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen and cost control experience.
  • Experience with design-assist projects.
  • Proficiency in Sage, Accubid, and EBM (or similar platforms).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience with healthcare, large commercial, multifamily, or sports/entertainment facilities.
