Position Overview
Edgewood Electric is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to oversee multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously, ranging from $5M on average up to $30M in value.
This is a leadership role responsible for financial performance, scheduling, client relationships, design-assist coordination, and change order management. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands complex commercial electrical systems, and has a strong command of project financials.
This is an in-office position based in Detroit.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Project Leadership
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects concurrently (avg. $5M; up to $30M).
- Oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Financial Ownership
- Full P&L responsibility for assigned projects.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, labor tracking, cost controls, and procurement.
- Monitor job cost reports and maintain margin targets.
- Utilize Sage for financial tracking and reporting.
Scheduling & Execution
- Develop and manage project schedules.
- Coordinate manpower planning and material procurement.
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
Change Order Management & Estimating
- Prepare, price, and negotiate change orders.
- Analyze scope revisions and cost impacts.
- Use Accubid and EBM for estimating and documentation.
- Maintain accurate change order logs and ensure timely approvals.
Design-Assist & Preconstruction
- Participate in design-assist efforts.
- Review plans and specifications for constructability and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with engineers, GCs, architects, and owners.
Client & Team Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners and general contractors.
- Lead internal project teams and mentor junior PMs and project engineers.
- Run project meetings and provide executive-level updates.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of electrical project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Experience managing projects valued at $5M+.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong financial acumen and cost control experience.
- Experience with design-assist projects.
- Proficiency in Sage, Accubid, and EBM (or similar platforms).
- Strong knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical systems.
Preferred:
- Experience with healthcare, large commercial, multifamily, or sports/entertainment facilities.
