General Job Summary
Area Manager (AM) is responsible for managing a specific geographic area which includes marketing/business development and meeting overall production/origination goals in their respective territories as a part of our Field Sales effort. Additionally, the AM manages self-sourced leads and company provided leads via the Velocify system, and marketing and representing UIF at various events/venues. All lead and origination activity must be tracked and documented in Velocify.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with Sales and Operations Managers to meet individual production, pull thru, and turn time goals.
- Stays current on Investor guidelines, internal underwriting/processing procedures and guidelines, and Company policies.
- Provide initial and ongoing training and mentoring to FC’s and Sales Assistants, if applicable.
- Conducts business development and community involvement activities in their designated area on behalf of the company.
- Knowledgeable of all UIF products and programs, software, and third-party requirements.
- Maintain high levels of customer service throughout the origination process.
- Maintain quality and compliance standards on individual origination pipeline.
- Responsible for business development activities which includes penetrating local communities via business card distribution, seminars, community events, and realtor relationships.
- Meets monthly and annual personal and team production and performance goals set forth by management.
- Participate in all required meetings including but not limited to weekly sales meeting and monthly staff meeting.
Other Job Functions
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree desired.
- 3-5 years Mortgage or related professional experience highly preferred.
- Necessary NMLS training and licensure.

- Strong computer skills required such as Excel, Word, and Adobe.

Working Environment
Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
- May be exposed to extended periods of interaction with others (listening/talking/taking notes).
- Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed.
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).
