Description
INTRODUCTION
The A&P Mechanic will maintain the company’s aircraft in a safe, and airworthy condition in accordance with company maintenance manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform work on aircraft and components as outlined on corresponding work forms, and in accordance with the manufacturer’s Maintenance Manual and Empire Airlines’ approved maintenance program.
- Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition; complete all records and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- A&P Mechanic will maintain the company’s aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition according to the company maintenance manual and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Serve as a role model for ethical behavior, maintain a professional and dignified work environment, and promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, maintenance, and inspection practices, along with proficiency in troubleshooting related systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations applicable to maintenance.
- Ability to work independently or in a team, in high-pressure environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and high standards of quality and compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- An FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is required.
- Electrical, technical, or mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record per company policy.
- Compliance with FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
Preferred:
- Two or more years of hands-on experience working with the company’s aircraft type.
- Prior field maintenance or flight support experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work primarily performed in a hangar or outdoor ramp environment.
- Exposure to aircraft noise, moving mechanical parts, and hazardous materials.
- Requires standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/lifts, and lifting up to 80 pounds.
- Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing, and hearing to conduct business.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Travel up to 25% to support field maintenance or customer sites.
- Smoke-free, drug- and alcohol-free workplace.
Pay & Benefits:
- Starting hourly base pay range (DOE): $28.53 - $33.37
- Qualifying hourly pay Incentives: $2.00 regional, $1.00 A & $1.00 P license
- Expected starting hourly Total: $32.53 to $37.37
