Full-time or Part-time Cosmetology Educator
Description



Core Teaching & Instructional Skills

  • Curriculum Delivery: Ability to teach cosmetology theory and practical skills aligned with Ohio state standards.
  • Student Evaluation: Skilled in developing and administering exams, maintaining academic records, and providing continuous feedback.
  • Classroom Management: Capable of monitoring attendance, counseling students, and maintaining a structured learning environment.

Industry & Technical Expertise

  • Licensing: Must hold an active Advanced Cosmetology License or Instructor’s License.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Strong understanding of safe and sanitary practices in cosmetology.
  • Product Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with Aveda products and retail experience in Aveda salons or experience centers.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective verbal and written communication for student counseling and performance reporting.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work with management on curriculum evaluation and program improvements.
Requirements


Experience & Educational Background

  • Required: High school diploma, cosmetology school graduate.
  • Preferred: Graduate of an Aveda Institute, prior teaching or training experience in the beauty industry.

Requirements:


Includes daytime and evening hours


Must be available on Saturdays


Full time or part time position


Must have active advanced license or instructor's license


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


Position requires standing for periods of time, may require some lifting or moving up to 25 Ibs.


Position Qualifications Required: High School Graduate; Cosmetology School Graduate; Active Advanced Cosmetology License;


Position Qualifications Desired: Graduate of an Aveda Institute; Previous Experience as an Educator in a Cosmetology School; Previous Retail Experience at an Aveda Salon or Aveda Experience Center; Previous Training or Teaching Experience in the Beauty Industry
