Job Summary:
Rehabilitation aides, working under the direct supervision of a therapist or assistant, assist in the productive operation of a Rehabilitation Department. Maintain the treatment area and prep therapy sessions, aiding in the transport of immobile patients. Prepares, cleans and maintains the work area as well as disinfect equipment after each use in preparation for the next patient. A rehabilitation aide must also be able to perform a number of other tasks including transporting patients to and from treatment areas, performing clerical duties, taking inventory, ordering and stocking supplies, preparing charts and entering charges into billing software, answering the telephone and taking messages to ensure everything is in order and prepared for the therapist. Must be professional and capable of interacting with patients in order to insure the most efficient therapy experience. Serves in patient activities and implements activities which are multi-faceted, fun, meet the patient’s functional needs, and reflect the interests of each patient in order to stimulate the physical and mental state and well-being of each patient.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Rehab Technician:
- Works closely with rehabilitation team and other hospital staff.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment, be on feet for long periods of time, and be able to handle the weight of patients if necessary.
- Assists therapy staff with therapeutic exercise programs and ambulatory procedures as indicated.
- Checks frequently on patient during treatment period to satisfy patient needs.
- Returns equipment and supplies to proper storage area. Makes treatment table ready for next patient if Outpatient.

Education: High School/ CNA License
Experience: One year experience in a medical office or facility required. Experience in an acute hospital physical therapy department preferred.
Skills: Organizational skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Knowledge: Use of computer programs. Medical and/or physical therapy environment and terminology
Abilities: Ability to take direction from an MD, Nurse Practitioner, PT, PTA, OT, COTA.
