Frank Beer Distributors in Middleton, WI is now hiring a Sales Representative. The team members of Frank Beer Distributors are committed, innovative leaders of the beverage industry through marketing, selling, distributing, merchandising, and servicing quality products to our valued customers.
In this role, you will develop and sustain professional sales relationships while promoting and merchandising the company’s products and programs across accounts within your assigned territory. While collaborating closely with your manager through a structured pre-planning process, you will work to meet both individual and company sales goals.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular sales calls to assigned accounts and actively participate in community and customer events, including those outside standard business hours.
- Secure and grow product distribution within the designated account base.
- Enter and process orders, complete surveys, manage POS requests, and track route goals using eoStar software.
- Monitor customer credit status and manage collections on outstanding invoices.
- Assist customers with inventory management, including product availability, new product placement, stock rotation, seasonal adjustments, promotions, and sales trends.
- Introduce and promote new brands and packaging to customers.
- Conduct and document supplier surveys to gather market insights.
- Deliver urgent “hot shot” orders directly to customer locations as needed.
- Maintain intermediate knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and promotional activities.
- Actively participate in sales meetings and on-site training sessions.
- Communicate respectfully and collaborate with internal teams—including merchandisers, delivery drivers, and suppliers—to ensure smooth operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with on-premise and off-premise accounts, proactively engaging customers.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales targets and distribution goals through disciplined and resourceful effort.
- Manage daily activities and priorities based on pre-planned route sales objectives.
- Track and report weekly progress against sales plans and goals.
- Meet regularly with management to review accomplishments and set upcoming goals; submit required plans and reports on schedule.
- Pre-sell special promotional items as directed.
- Educate customers on product features, brand offerings, styles, and industry trends.
- Maintain and communicate accurate pricing and program information to customers.
- Monitor competitive pricing and market activity; escalate relevant information that may impact company positioning.
- Plan and execute supplier work-with events at assigned customer accounts.
- Implement transactional programming and promotional initiatives.
- Support and assist in training sales relief and trainee personnel
Off Premise:
- Merchandises and stocks products at assigned accounts to ensure optimal product availability.
- Recommends, deploys, and installs point-of-sale (POS) materials and builds displays that comply with company and supplier standards. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of supplier marketing guidelines, including branding, logos, and sponsorship use.
- Maintains an organized inventory of POS materials and coupons in the vehicle; applies relevant rebates and coupons to packages and displays.
- Conducts weekly inventory counts, reorganizes back stock, replenishes cold boxes, shelves, and displays, and ensures products are clean and presentable.
- Adheres to quality assurance standards by monitoring product codes and maintaining proper rotation of date-sensitive items, particularly beer.
- Assists retail customers by providing guidance and directions to beer, wine, and spirits sections, collaborating with store personnel as needed.
- Partners with category management to support product resets, playing an active role in reset design and developing intermediate expertise in category management principles.
- Serves as a mentor by assisting in the training and development of new merchandisers and Sales Relief Representatives.
On Premise:
- Conducts customer staff training sessions as needed to ensure product knowledge and effective sales support.
- Recommends, creates, and installs new and existing point-of-sale materials, including menu cards and permanent signage, while adhering to supplier marketing standards regarding branding, logos, and sponsorships.
- Maintains quality assurance by monitoring product codes and ensuring proper rotation of all date-sensitive products, especially beer.
- Performs weekly inventory counts and reorganizes back stock and coolers to maintain optimal product presentation.
- Possesses intermediate knowledge of draft systems to assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic issues.
- Provides mentorship and supports the training of new Sales Relief Representatives to promote team development.

- Able to identify market trends promptly and adjust strategies accordingly to capitalize on opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Minimum of one year of sales experience required; prior experience in the distribution, hospitality, supplier, or beverage industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of insurance are required; mileage reimbursement is provided for business use.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary liquor salesperson permits.
- Residency within or near the assigned sales territory is preferred.
- Familiarity with the assigned market is preferred; one or more years of experience working within the territory is a plus.
