Job Description:
First Stop Health is seeking a Sr Data Reporting Engineer to help us continue to grow our culture of leading through analytics. This role combines advanced report development, backend data engineering in Snowflake, Power BI administration, and the application of AI-driven analytics and automation. The position plays a key role within Business Intelligence, helping modernize analytics through automation, AI-assisted development, and scalable best practices. This is a collaborative and detail-oriented role that will have exposure across the First Stop Health organization and will be reporting to the Manager of Analytics. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, service-oriented, and could continually learn and bring creative solutions back to the team.
Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and maintain advanced dashboards and reports, including embedded analytics within SharePoint and web-based applications
· Build and optimize semantic models to support scalable, high-performing analytics
· Administer the Power BI environment, including workspace management, dataset refreshes, deployment pipelines, security (RLS), and capacity monitoring
· Leverage AI capabilities such as Power BI Copilot to accelerate report development, modeling, documentation, and insight generation
· Apply data visualization, UX, and accessibility best practices to deliver intuitive, business-ready analytics experiences
Snowflake Data Engineering & Backend Analytics
- Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake data models and views optimized for BI and self-service analytics
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL for data transformation, performance tuning, and analytics workloads
- Utilize Snowflake Intelligence, Cortex, or related AI/ML features to support advanced analytics, data exploration, and automation use cases
- Implement automation for data pipelines, quality checks, and reporting workflows using AI-driven or programmatic approaches where appropriate
- Partner with upstream data engineering and source system teams to support reliable, governed data integration
BI Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a hands-on contributor within the Business Intelligence Analytics, helping define standards, best practices, and reference architecture for analytics and AI-enabled BI
- Support data governance, compliance, security, and data quality standards across Power BI and Snowflake environments
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging analytics capabilities to improve efficiency and insight delivery
- Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts and business users on modeling, visualization, automation, and self-service analytics
Stakeholder Partnership
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, AI-enabled analytics solutions
- Communicate insights and technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences using data storytelling and visualization
- Support strategic planning by aligning analytics and automation initiatives with business priorities.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; preferably an analytical background (Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Comp Sci, Engineering, etc.)
- 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related roles
- Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI report development, embedded analytics, and administration
- Advanced expertise in DAX, data modeling, and complex data transformations
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms
- Experience leveraging AI capabilities in analytics tools (e.g., Power BI Copilot, Snowflake Intelligence, Cortex, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience implementing automation in analytics workflows, data pipelines, or reporting processes
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data integration, and modern analytics architectures
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
- Healthcare experience is a plus
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) is a plus
- Relevant certifications in Power BI or data visualization are a plus
- Working knowledge of other BI & Data Visualization tools like dbt and Tableau
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, semantic models)
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code for analytics
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, insurance, financial services)
