Description

Bloomsbury is seeking a spring Marketing and Publicity Intern for its Special Interest team. The intern will assist our small team in the publication and promotion of specialty nonfiction books in popular science, sports & fitness, military history, wildlife, and crafting, as well as our Head of Zeus imprint. Please note that interns will not be working with Sarah J. Maas titles nor YA/Children’s books. Responsibilities: 

Since we are a small team, interns play an integral role in our day-to-day operations. Intern projects reflect the diverse aspects of trade publishing, including:

· Attending editorial meetings

· Completing publicity, influencer, and institutional research

· Drafting galley letters, press releases, and marketing materials

· Assisting the publicity department in media tracking and pitching

· Contributing content to our social media accounts

· Managing departmental shipping

· Providing administrative support to the marketing and publicity team

· Updating data systems as needed


Application deadline: March 16th, 2026

Wage: $18.00/hr

Duration: This position will begin on March 23rd, 2026, and will run for a minimum of three months.


Time commitment: We require a commitment of a maximum 20 hours per week. Availability must include the core hours of 10:00a-4:00p Monday-Thursday.


Location: Candidates must reside in NY tri-state area and be able to work in-person at our Midtown Manhattan office 2 days per week.

Interns will have the opportunity to attend programming designed to introduce them to the various departments within Bloomsbury, provide them with networking opportunities, and prepare them for the job application process.


We are looking for a creative and motivated individual who ideally has the following skills: 

· Ability to work efficiently and independently

· Strong communication skills suitable for a fast-paced, professional environment

· Detail-oriented, able to manage their own time, and highly organized

· Demonstrable interest in learning about publicity and publishing
