Summer Swim Instructor
Description

Pay: $10.75/hour  $12.20/hour with a Lifeguard Cert

Position Type: part-time

Schedule: Flexible schedule with a variety of shifts available

Swim Instructors will provide swimming instruction to students of various ages and ability levels, from preschool through adult. Lessons are taught in accordance with the YMCA Swim Lesson program curriculum. Critical to your success as an instructor, the Y's continued reputation as a provider of highest quality swim instruction, is the relationship that you build with your students and their parents. This will be accomplished through positive and regular communications with students and parents relative to progress, concerns, questions and suggestions, while maintaining a safe and friendly aquatic learning environment. Ideal candidates will be at least 15 years old, and have the ability to work 2+ days per week. Variety of shifts available.  



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have knowledge of and ability to demonstrate and teach proper swim strokes and skills. Previous teacher experience not required.
  2. Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively interact with swimmers, parents and staff.
  3. Patience, problem-solving ability, creativity and the ability to work in a noisy environment.   

Certifications:

CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.

$10.75 - $12.20/hour
