IGS is currently recruiting a remote API Integration Engineer to support our work.
Assignment of Work and Travel:
This is a remote access assignment. The Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access IGS systems and therein use approved IGS provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.
We are seeking a talented API Developer to join our team. In this role, you will build and extends REST API endpoints using InterSystems IRIS ObjectScript, including dispatch routing and JSON request/response handling.
This is a short-term assignment for a C2C or 1099 consultant.
Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
- Build and extend REST API endpoints in ObjectScript on InterSystems IRIS
- Write persistent data classes with SQL queries for clinical data types
- Implement business logic for patient data retrieval and clinical record aggregation
- Collaborate across a multi-system platform: Angular frontend, IRIS backend, and .NET job services
- InterSystems ObjectScript class definitions, dispatch routing, JSON handling, SQL statement preparation and execution
- InterSystems IRIS or Cache namespaces, persistent storage, indexing, journaling controls
- REST API design — route mapping, JSON request/response patterns, HTTP status codes
- SQL queries, stored procedures, result set iteration

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- Experience with FileMan globals, ICN/EDIPI/Sta3n identifiers, TIU clinical documents
- InterSystems HealthShare or HealthConnect integration experience
- Docker/Podman
- Healthcare data standards knowledge (FHIR)
- Python/FastAPI
- PostgreSQL administration and PL/pgSQL stored procedures
- Experience implementing and operating in DevOps environments

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
