Description

The Body Shop Parts Coordinator is a position centered on providing parts solutions to the body shop department. The Body Shop Parts Coordinator is a fast-paced work environment that puts the individual in front of our body shop team to help them with their parts’ needs. 

This critical role directly impacts the overall financial success of the parts department and Hill International Trucks. 


Essential Duties:

  • Work with the Body Shop to ensure a timely turn-around of parts needed for in-house service jobs.
  • Maintain positive attitudes and teamwork throughout the department and with other departments in the dealership.
  • Assist Shipping and Receiving in completing incoming stock orders and inter-branch functions. 
  • Understand and implement our departments inventory control practices. 
  • Complete all training requirements that will increase your overall understanding of parts related functions. 
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Observe all safety rules.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work with body shop managers to quote out parts for repair jobs.
  • Work with body shop technicians and managers to ensure body shop repairs have the parts required to complete the job.
  • Pull purchased parts from stock.
  • If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested.
  • Answer phone calls within three rings, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Be friendly, professional, and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person.
  • Provide the same high level of service to the other dealership departments as is given to other customers.
  • Keep back counter areas clean and uncluttered including with a weekly wipe down of all counter areas.
  • Do a quick twice a week walk through of body shop parts storage and ensure only relevant parts for current/incoming jobs are being stored.
  • Advise Parts Manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition.
  • Keep current on new products and product updates through vendor websites and catalogs. 
  • Participate with the Parts Manager in maintaining a Lost Sale Tracking program.
  • Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
  • Maintain awareness of parts pricing for special and local purchases.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean, clear, and organized.
  • Parts Bin Management which includes:
  • A. Ensure correct placement of parts in each bin location. 
  • B. Cycle out empty boxes and feed in overstock when necessary
  • C. Maintain clean and clear walkways.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Punctual, reliable and excellent work ethic and service standards.
  • Excellent computer and communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, able to learn dealership software. 
  • Frequent telephone use and professional phone etiquette. 
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires performing accurate, knowledgeable detailed work.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in an automotive, heavy-duty truck or tractor parts sale's role preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
  • Ability to use parts department computer system, calculator, and forklift and hand trucks.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, cutters, pliers, wrenches, and tape measures.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, and background check.

Physical/Environmental Conditions:

  • Requires standing and walking for long periods.
  • Requires bending/stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling/reaching for short periods.
  • Requires frequent lifting of 5 to 80 pounds.
  • Requires occasional lifting objects over 80 pounds.
  • Occasionally exposed to engine exhaust fumes.
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noise.
  • Works overtime as required. 
  • Requires some work outdoors, in all types of weather conditions for moving, loading and unloading parts on/off trucks when necessary.

Salary Description
