Description
Essential Functions:
- Contacts new and existing bank clients to determine commercial lending needs and establish or maintain a solid banking relationship; initiates commercial loans as determined by contact with client.
- Develops and retains commercial business, meeting with prospects and customers of moderate size and complexity in a designated region to achieve a moderate sales goal under limited supervision of more experienced personnel.
- Gathers related financial and general business information, performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions, participates in team credit decisions and communicates with prospects and customers to close sales.
- Performs necessary ongoing research regarding the client’s business, including analysis of financial statements to maintain proper risk rating on assigned credits.
- Provides accurate and adequate documentation for loan files.
- Communicates bank loan decisions with client and services loan upon closing; communicates necessary information to review committee as required.
- Promotes bank products and services through community contacts and involvement.
- Maintain a strong community involvement.
- Assures compliance with required regulations including proper loan documentation.
- Makes calls independently but may be accompanied by more experienced personnel on larger account visits.
- Develops knowledge of commercial and other products and services, including loan policy, documentation, structuring and regulatory requirements.
- Continues developing network of outside referral sources for new business.
- Ensures that own work is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as required by the position.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years previous lending experience, including background in credit analysis and commercial lending.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in business, finance, accounting or management preferred.
- High level of integrity.
- Ability to analyze financial statements, with solid attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Experience utilizing SBA 7a and 504 Loan products preferred.
- Demonstrated consultative sales skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
- Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Ability to represent the bank positively in the community.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the institution’s privacy policies.
Technical Skills
- Requires significant knowledge of bank products and services.
- Business, analytical, and technical sales expertise are necessary.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) or similar software. Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
