Description

Oversees and coordinates daily production activities to support the manufacturing schedule, ensuring orders are completed and delivered to customers on time. Provides real-time updates on production order status to the Customer Service team as needed and maintains accurate scheduling data. Verifies the proper allocation and recording of materials and labor to production orders to ensure accurate cost reporting. 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor production order releases, plan orders, and coordinate with Operations team regarding materials and capacity requirement. 
  • Use ERP system to schedule and release production order to warehouse and production for processing.
  • Update capacity table, review work orders requirements, add routing steps to production orders, and process third party services when needed. 
  • Level load production schedule using ERP to help balance daily, weekly, and monthly plan. 
  • Act as the liaison between Operations and Customer Service/Sales daily, proactively communicating any potential delays in production which may impact delivery. 
  • Lead regular production meetings to elevate job statuses, recognize any issues or delays, and facilitate resolution to solve problems. 
  • Ensure pre-production activities are performed on time, including material kitting, outside service processing, nameplate/label printing, and material expedition when needed. 
  • Coordinate with material handlers to ensure on time kitting of materials, and coordinate with warehouse for quick turnaround from receiving desk to the required production order. 
  • Expedite needed materials with Purchasing for unanticipated requirements. Identify alternate source for material to fill material shortages.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to prioritize sequence of jobs in inspection and to recognize causes for delay and impact to delivery schedule. 
  • Process Engineering change orders with all relevant departments, ensures Production has the most current drawing revision.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.  
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two (2) years applicable experience in a production environment
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines
  • Self-motivated, organized and creative
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle ambiguity in daily activities
  • Must be self-motivated and multi-task in a face paced environment
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to problem solve inventory related issues
  • Must have good communication skills and actively interact with associated departments daily
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office/Window products
