ROLE SUMMARY  

The Senior Associate, Data Analytics & Reporting is an experienced data professional who works independently on moderately complex analytics, reporting, and visualization initiatives. This role contributes deep subject matter expertise to transform data into clear, actionable insights that support philanthropy, finance, community impact, and executive decision-making. 

The Senior Associate owns discrete deliverables and workstreams within the Federation’s reporting ecosystem, applying judgment to adapt analytic methods to unique situations and evaluating multiple variables to solve varied business problems. While primarily an individual contributor, this role may mentor Associates, model professionalism and initiative, and serve as a trusted resource beyond the immediate data team. This role reports to Managing Director, Data.


ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Analytics & Reporting Execution 

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and analytic outputs that support fundraising, donor engagement, financial visibility, and community impact measurement. 
  • Independently execute moderately complex analytics projects, translating business questions into effective reporting solutions.
  • Apply analytical judgment to adapt methodologies and visualizations based on audience needs and data constraints. 

Data Visualization & Storytelling  

  • Create clear, compelling data visualizations and narratives using Power BI and/or Tableau to communicate trends, performance, and outcomes. 
  • Tailor communication and presentation style to different audiences, including executive leadership, committees, and program staff.
  • Support preparation of data-driven materials for Board meetings, annual reporting, and organizational presentations.

Systems & Data Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Salesforce NPSP data to analyze constituent, giving, and engagement data for reporting and insight generation. 
  • Partner with Data Operations and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and appropriate interpretation. 
  • Identify data quality issues and contribute recommendations to improve reporting reliability and usability. 
  • Build audience lists for events, emails, and mailings, as well as oversee the cross-functional hand-offs related to distribution lists 

Ownership & Initiative  

  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables, timelines, and data outputs, ensuring work is accurate, thoughtful, and well-documented. 
  • Adapt processes and find creative solutions when standard approaches do not fully address reporting needs.  
  • Proactively surface insights, trends, and opportunities that align individual contributions with broader team and organizational objectives.  

Collaboration & Mentorship 

  • Collaborate effectively across Philanthropy, Finance, Marketing, Community Impact, and Data teams to support shared goals. 
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and subject matter expertise to support team learning and growth. 
  • May mentor Associates or lead small analytic workstreams, modeling initiative, accountability, and professional standards.
  • Build credibility as a knowledgeable and reliable analytics partner across teams beyond the immediate data group. 
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES   

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce NPSP  
  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI and/or Tableau.  
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Proven ability to work independently, apply judgment, and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to ownership, innovation, and professional growth. 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and disciplines  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3–4 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting; or Master’s degree with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Salary Description
$94,000-$110,000 /annually
