Network/Systems Administrator I - Monitoring
Description

A successful Monitoring Management – Junior level candidate will have:

  • Understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds or other network monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with ICMP for error reporting and troubleshooting
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft 365 suite products including Outlook and Teams
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft/Windows operating systems and environments

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with managing SolarWinds or other network monitoring tools. 
  • Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Experience with configuring SMNP.
  • Experience applying DISA STIG configurations and ensure compliance with DoD security settings. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced network monitoring tools to detect and respond to network incidents, creating and managing Remedy incident tickets as necessary to escalate issues to internal teams for resolution.
  • Execute established procedures for rapid identification and resolution of network incidents, minimizing downtime and impact on enterprise operations.
  • Investigate and identify possible false-positives.
  • Perform routine hardware and software checks, as well as scheduled maintenance and system upgrades/patching to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Monitor databases and design custom widgets and dashboards using SWQL (SolarWinds Query Language) or an automated graphical query builder to provide real-time insights into network performance.
  • Ensuring standard operating procedures (SOP) and other operational procedures are maintained 
Requirements

Education & Experience:

  •  Requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent 

Certifications:

  

Required

  • Candidate must be certified in accordance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved baseline certifications prior to start date:
  • IAT II = Security+, CySA+, CCNA - Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP or higher.
  • Microsoft AZ-900 is required within 180 days of start

Desired

  • Microsoft AZ-104 – Microsoft Certified Azure Associate 

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret or TOP Secret 

Other (Travel, Work Environment, etc):

  • The primary shift for this position is Monday – Friday between the operating hours of 0700 to 1700. 
  • If a temporary schedule change is required to support operations, you will be provided with as much notice as the situation allows.
  • Certification requirements are subject to change based on government's direction. If this occurs you will have 120 days to become compliant.
