Role Overview



We are seeking an experienced FinOps Lead to join our cloud services organization and help build and deliver our FinOps advisory and managed services practice. This role operates within Customer Success and managed services delivery, helping clients optimize cloud spend, implement governance, and forecast future consumption across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

The FinOps Lead acts as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients, delivering ongoing cloud financial insights while partnering with presales architects, cloud engineers, and customer success managers. In addition to client delivery, this role helps define internal processes, reporting frameworks, and service offerings that form the foundation of a FinOps practice.



Key Responsibilities



Client Advisory & Delivery


- Lead monthly FinOps reviews with clients to analyze spend trends and optimization opportunities

- Develop cost optimization roadmaps aligned with architecture and growth plans

- Deliver executive-level reporting translating usage into business insights

- Identify optimization opportunities including rightsizing and commitment strategies

- Build cloud spend forecasts and budget projections

- Guide clients implementing governance frameworks such as tagging and cost allocation


Cloud Cost Optimization


- Analyze billing and usage data across AWS, Azure, and GCP

- Optimize Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and reservations

- Identify idle resources and rightsizing opportunities

- Evaluate architecture decisions that impact cost efficiency


Presales Support


- Support presales teams with cost modeling and optimization analysis

- Contribute to ROI models and FinOps value narratives

- Help position FinOps advisory services in cloud transformation deals


Practice Development


- Define FinOps service offerings and delivery frameworks

- Create reporting templates and executive dashboards

- Develop optimization playbooks and governance workflows

- Establish KPIs for FinOps engagements

Requirements

  


Must-Have Qualification



- 5+ years experience in cloud cost optimization, cloud operations, or FinOps

- Experience managing cloud spend across AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Experience presenting cost insights to technical and business stakeholders

- Experience in consulting, managed services, or enterprise cloud environments

- Client-facing advisory experience


Technical Skills


- Billing analysis and usage reporting

- Tagging strategies and cost allocation models

- Commitment management (Savings Plans, RIs, reservations)

- Forecasting and budget modeling


Tools & Data Skills


- AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or GCP Billing

- FinOps platforms or cloud financial management tools

- SQL or data querying

- BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker



Preferred Certifications



- FinOps Certified Practitioner

- AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications
