Club Description: 

Ansley Golf Club is a Platinum Club Top 150 Country Club with two locations, in Midtown Atlanta, and Settindown in Roswell, just north of the city. The Club amenities consist of 31 holes of championship golf with 9 holes at the midtown location while the Settindown location has a challenging and beautiful Tyler Rae designed 18 holes along with a Short Course of 4 holes, along with 8 hydro grid tennis courts, 3 pickleball courts, fitness center, swimming complex, and multiple dining areas in the two clubhouses.  


Position Summary:

The Director of Racquet Sports oversees all racquet operation activities including the tennis pro shop, merchandising, tournaments, and tennis/pickleball instruction while practicing the Ansley Core Values of Collaboration, Graciousness, Trustworthy, and Passionate. He/she will provide an exceptional level of personalized service to the membership, their families, and guests while ensuring the best interest and policies of the Club are met and exceeded. 


Essential Responsibilities: 

The Director of Racquet Sports role demands a dynamic polished leader that fosters positive relationships and interacts at the highest level within the membership and staff while representing Ansley Golf Club with the utmost standards of service, integrity, and professionalism. 

  • Management of the daily racquets’ operations and facilities.
  • Drive consistent improvement in racquets programs (leagues, clinics, lessons, events and camp) for all ages & skill levels of members with corresponding programs for each on a regular basis.
  • Create and show innovation in developing new programs to bring about greater involvement in our racquet programs.
  • Responsible for running the tennis pro shop including a select line of state-of-the art tennis & pickleball racquets, balls and soft goods appropriate for the needs of the members. Offer quality racquet stringing services to members and a demo racquet program.
  • Responsible for developing and administrating the annual operating budgets, the annual capital budgets, and the five-year capital plans for the racquet programs.
  • Cultivate and actively communicate with members in a timely manner through all means available including personal face to face, email, website, appropriate social media, court booking system, print and phone.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service and hospitality by overseeing or performing operational duties including racquets and athletics facilities being properly maintained; answering phones; responding to voice mail and  emails; taking reservations; timely & accurate billing of services; keeping racquets section of website current and up to date; monitoring & maintaining court booking system; and conducting in-person new member orientations. Works closely with all departments of the Ansley Golf      Club to ensure the Racquets Departments are always ready.
  • Manage & develop racquets staff by selecting and hiring qualified candidates of high character. Provide training, support, and communication to staff to align with the Ansley Values Statement. Conduct regular periodic department staff meetings. Create an effective schedule that meets members’ needs and the department’s budget.
  • Attending and participating in all department head meetings. Coordinating and participating in all Tennis/Racquet Committee meetings. 
  • Submit formal report and actionable data for all Tennis Committee meetings. Approve all tennis related news for newsletter and app.
  • Financial – oversee all billing for services, leagues, and events. Monitor payroll for staff and independent contractors. Develop annual budget in conjunction with General Manager and CFO. Oversee annual purchases of required equipment and      supplies in line with annual budget.
  • Outgoing personality and warmth to make everyone feel welcome through presence and being accessible to membership and fellow staff, is very important.
  • Ability to generate and      maintain a high level of respect through ongoing positive interaction and communication with members, staff, and colleagues.
Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • USPTA Pro1 Rating Certification
  • Professional Pickleball Registry Certification (PPR)
  • A minimum of three years as Director of Racquets Sports or Head professional of Tennis/Paddle,
  • College tennis playing experience preferred.
  • College education preferred - Bachelor’s degree and/or Professional Tennis Management degree preferred. 
  • Leadership skills and the ability to inspire others.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality. 
  • Must be well organized. 
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, caring and have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to relate to all ages and levels of tennis, pickleball and athletics.
  • Demonstrated and proven experience in budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, and staff management. 
  • Demonstrated and strong command of written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Maintain a credible tennis game and remain current on teaching innovations
  • Experienced and can apply the latest technology in all applications of the golf operation 
  • Proficient in point-of-sale software, Microsoft Suite, JAM, etc. 
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends/holidays. 
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, both manner and appearance with a positive attitude in all situations

Ansley Golf Club offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.  The Director of Racquet Sports is a salaried, exempt, full-time position with benefits including:
