Digital Experience Designer (Mobile-First UI/UX)
WFH Flexible Greenville, SC
Description

GMB is currently seeking a Digital Experience Designer (Mobile-First UI/UX) to fill a role on our Creative Marketing Agency team. The purpose of this role is to design intuitive, accessible, mobile-first digital experiences that drive engagement and conversion.

Why Work with Us? This is the part where most job descriptions jump into the responsibilities and requirements for the role being posted - and we'll get there shortly! But we like to start with the why instead of the what.

Our purpose is helping build strong communities through educational opportunity. We focus on projects within the educational ecosystem, from Pre-K through Higher Education and spaces in our community that support lifelong learning. Our integrated team gets to work together on a wide range of project types – building design, performance engineering, communications campaigns, branding, enrollment marketing, financial analysis, projections and planning – and we're proud of the impact that our work has on the lives and trajectories of students across the United States. Will you join us?

As a Digital Experience Designer with GMB you will:

  • Translate brand strategy into responsive, mobile-first digital experiences with a strong UX foundation, such as websites, landing pages, email campaigns, and paid media creative
  • Collaborate with the UX strategist on wireframes and create prototypes in Figma
  • Infuse digital best practices, accessibility standards, and emerging technologies and trends into compelling design that drives engagement and conversion with target audiences
  • Contribute to digital design systems and scalable component libraries
  • Manage multiple projects and guide creative digital media design from concept and wireframing through final production
  • Pitch and present digital creative concepts to clients and internal teams, with the ability to explain the strategy behind the creative thinking and design

What type of knowledge do I need to succeed in this role?

More than a specific degree and exact number of years of experience, we’re most excited about what kind of knowledge you bring. For this role, we are seeking someone with developing knowledge who co-owns projects and owns pieces of larger projects with decreasing guidance.

Some components that may help indicate you are at this knowledge milestone include more tangible items like:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years digital design experience (5+ preferred)
  • Strong mobile-first portfolio emphasizing knowledge and experience in creative, mobile-first design and UX, included with application materials
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience designing for CMS-driven websites (WordPress is a plus)
  • Understanding of UX fundamentals, responsive design principles and user journey thinking
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with teammates and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines at a high-production volume

What might set you apart from other candidates?

  • Print design experience
  • Experience with motion/video editing
  • A design assignment may be included in interview process

We might be a great match for each other if you are:

  • A self-starter with great time management who thrives in an environment with cross-discipline collaboration and team level decision making
  • An individual who contributes beyond themselves, is motivated by their team's success and works hard to ensure it
  • Someone who enjoys trying new ideas and constantly improving
