Description

Job Purpose

Acting as key member of Accounting team, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for numerous activities as part of month-end and year-end close processes and general accounting.

Key Responsibilities

 

Coordinate and participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

  •  Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  •  Manage the timely and accurate preparation of a monthly reporting package and present it along with potential                       risk areas to Corporate Controller.
  • Monitor, analyze, and prepare manufacturing variance analysis as part of the monthly financial close and analyze the operating results vs. budget and forecasts; and identify trends & improvement opportunities.
  • Support variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance.
  •  Ensure accuracy of consolidated & entity level general ledger accounts by performing account reconciliations and/or analysis
  •  Maintain and update financial tools including ERP G/L and sub-ledgers, asset/patent tracking software, and management financial model.
  •  Maintain standard cost system in ERP, including setting new standards throughout the year and developing annual       standards during the budget/planning process.
  •  Act as a key liaison for external auditors, coordinating audit requests and documentation.
  •  Control and coordinate capital spending process including issuing new projects, following up with project owners to ensure timely project closure, and other tasks as necessary. 
  •  Prepare Sales Tax filing as required.
  •  Participate in physical inventory process.
  •  Participate in budgeting/planning process as assigned.
  •  Act as department backup for designated processes, including Accounts Receivable and Timekeeping.
  •  Support Controller on projects and assignments, as needed.
Requirements

 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 4+ years of progressively increasing accounting experience in public accounting, or in a manufacturing company.
  •  Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting.
  •  Certified Public Accounting designation a plus.
  •  Experience with international accounting a plus.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office; Advanced in Microsoft Excel.
  •  Familiar with Macola ERP or similar ERP-type software.
  •  Proactive and process driven.
  •  Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
  •  Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
