NFPA is looking to add a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst  to the Finance team! 


Position Summary 

The Senior FP&A Analyst plays a key role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making. This position leads complex financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis activities. The position partners closely with business leaders to provide actionable insights and often serves as a subject matter expert within the finance team. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead components of the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles
  • Analyze financial performance, trends, and variances against plan, prior periods, and benchmarks
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions
  • Prepare executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis (for both revenue and expenses)
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights and performance recommendations
  • Establish and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting standards
  • Support capital planning, scenario analysis, and long-range financial planning
  • Assist with special projects, business cases, and ad hoc analysis as needed


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4–7+ years of progressive financial analysis experience
  • Prior experience managing or leading a team preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Experience working with ERP and planning tools (NetSuite, Oracle, NSPB)

Salary ranges at NFPA are set by role and level, based on current competitive market data. Final compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including the specific skills, relevant experience, education, and training you bring to the role, as well as internal equity and business needs. For candidates whose qualifications align well with the role’s requirements and expectations, offers are often made toward the minimum of the posted range. Exceptional qualifications or unique circumstances may result in placement higher in the range.
