  About Us
eSimplicity is a modern digital services company that partners with government agencies to improve the lives and protect the well-being of all Americans, from veterans and service members to children, families, and seniors. Our engineers, designers, and strategists cut through complexity to create intuitive products and services that equip federal agencies with solutions to courageously transform today for a better tomorrow.

We are hiring an Analytics Lead to own end-to-end analytic delivery for high-impact work at the intersection of engineering and applied research. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will translate ambiguous questions into analytic approaches, build scalable solutions in a modern cloud analytics platform (e.g., Databricks/Spark), validate outputs with strong quality controls, and present results in a clear, decision-ready format.

Responsibilities

  • Lead e2e analytics delivery: intake and clarification of requests, analytic design, development, validation, interpretation, and final delivery.
  • Translate stakeholder questions into analytic specifications (cohorts, definitions, assumptions, time windows, and sensitivity checks).
  • Build and review production-grade analytics using SQL and Python in a modern cloud analytics environment; apply distributed processing patterns (Spark/PySpark) when appropriate.
  • Establish and enforce analytic quality standards including reproducibility, documentation, peer review, testing, and reconciliation against benchmarks or historical trends.
  • Partner with research/domain leaders to ensure analytic outputs are interpreted correctly and include appropriate caveats and limitations.
  • Advise clients on the meaning of their data and recommend actions they should take.
  • Optimize analytic throughput by creating reusable code patterns, standard templates, and repeatable workflows.
  • Mentor and coach analysts and engineers on technical execution, analytic methods, and clear communication of results.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support executive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership on performance, scalability, job orchestration patterns, data pipelines and data governance aligned to security and compliance needs.
  • Support secure handling of sensitive data by following access controls, least-privilege practices, and project-specific data use requirements.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • All candidates must pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government. This requires candidates to either be U.S. citizens or pass clearance through the Foreign National Government System which will require that candidates have lived within the United States for at least 3 out of the previous 5 years, have a valid and non-expired passport from their country of birth and appropriate VISA/work permit documentation.
  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering with ownership of analytic delivery in production environments.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills; strong capability with modern data processing frameworks (Spark/PySpark, distributed SQL engines, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in cloud analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to design rigorous analyses, validate results, and communicate methods and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong code quality habits including version control, documentation, review discipline, and testing/validation practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience leading a team of analysts in regulated or high-stakes environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, insurance, government, critical infrastructure).

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with Federal and/or State agencies.
  • Experience designing and operating analytics workflows (intake/triage, prioritization, SLAs, and stakeholder communications).
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Familiarity infusing AI into analytic approaches.
  • Experience modernizing legacy analytics to open-source/cloud stacks, including parallel validation and cutover planning.
  • Background in applied research analytics, research methodology, evaluation, and/or statistical methods.
